Sunshine start to finish today, with a faint SSW drift and the barometer on the way down. The productive water at Perch Lake will be around windblown banks where food collects. Block out the hours from night into morning. Cover water early, then settle where the signs are. Autumn fish are feeding up and less fussy than in summer.

Perch Lake belongs to Sawyer County, Wisconsin. The country here is mixed forest. At about 127 acres, a day is enough to walk the shoreline properly. Shoreline comes to about 1.9 miles, small enough to learn in a day. The closest town, Little Round Lake, is 20 miles distant. Then Park Falls, 25 miles, and Hayward, 27 miles. No boundary runs near, so the county rules hold throughout.
Nothing we hold settles how deep this runs. Bays and points beat straight shoreline every time on water like this. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. Fish documented in Sawyer County include walleye, brown trout and largemouth bass. The county figures include rivers and lakes alike. Perch Lake gives up more to patience than to distance.
Expect July near 67°F and January near 9°F on the long-run figures. The middle months are generous; the ends are demanding. Look for the thaw near mid April; the fishing lifts straight after. The open-water window runs from around mid April to about late November in an average year. Look to early summer and the first cool weeks of autumn. Plan around that when you fish Perch Lake.
Nothing we hold confirms whether access is permitted. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. A boat ramp sits about half a mile from the water. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Read any posted signs at the access point rather than assuming. Some ground is open by custom rather than by right, so tread carefully. Island Lake at 0.6 miles is the sensible second choice. None of that is settled for Perch Lake in what we hold.
