A cloudless sky and strong light today, with dead-still conditions and pressure easing off. The fish at Lost Lake are likely to sit near inflow corners and shaded margins. The day fishes best from night into morning. Fish confidently and change only when the bites stop. Cooling water has fish active and on the move.

Look for Lost Lake in the Forest County part of Wisconsin. The ground round it is lake country bush. It runs to roughly 76 acres — big enough to hold fish away from the bank, small enough to learn. There is roughly 1.5 miles of shoreline here, which is a short walk end to end. Crandon lies 8.2 miles from the water. Then Nashville, 11 miles, and Antigo, 28 miles. The line between counties passes nearby, which can change who manages the water.
Without a survey to go on, judge depth from how the bank falls away. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. Records held for Forest County cover brown trout, largemouth bass, yellow perch, northern pike and bluegill. The county list is broader than any single water. At Lost Lake light and wind decide more than tackle does.
Long-term averages put July at about 65°F and January near 11°F. Fishing here follows the temperature more than the calendar. Break-up comes around mid April, and the run that follows is short and strong. Going by climate averages, expect open water from about mid April until roughly late November. Look to early summer and the first cool weeks of autumn. Expect Lost Lake to follow that timing.
The rules here are undocumented as far as public sources go. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. Nothing is listed nearby for parking or launching a boat. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. Ask in the nearest town if you are unsure. Night access is frequently treated as a separate matter. If the gate is shut, Spring Lake at 0.7 miles is the nearest alternative. Ask locally about Lost Lake if anything is unclear.
