Not a cloud worth mentioning today, with barely a breath of wind and steady pressure. Most of the action on Pine Lake should come off structure within a cast of the bank. The productive run goes night into morning. Start on the obvious water and expand from there. The season of moving fish: stay mobile and watch for bait.

Pine Lake is a Grays Harbor County water, in Washington. Around the bank it is farm and woodlot. At 8 acres it is the sort of place you fish for an evening rather than a day. Shelton is the closest place, 23 miles off. It is 50 miles to Tacoma, the nearest city. Within a short drive: Satsop Lakes (1.6 miles), Spider Lake at about 2.6 miles, Wynoochee Lake (5.3 miles), Discovery Lake at about 7 miles and Lake Sundown (7.4 miles). No county line comes close, which keeps the paperwork simple.
We hold no depth figure for this one. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Species logged across Grays Harbor County include Coho salmon, rainbow trout, Chinook salmon, Chum salmon and cutthroat trout. Protected fish appear in the records for this area, so treat the list as information, not an invitation. The shape of Pine Lake rewards a slow walk along one bank.
Climate normals give 58°F for August and 35°F for December. In milder years the surface never sets. Some winters give nothing at all, so plan for open water. February into May fishes hardest as the water warms. At Pine Lake the season follows that pattern closely. A cold snap sets things back for several days.
Our records carry no access rule either way. Overnight stays are possible about 110 yards out, where camping is mapped. A small crankbait along the drop and a worm in the thick stuff cover the bass. Ask in the nearest town if you are unsure. Where tickets apply, they are sold in the nearest town rather than on the bank. Satsop Lakes sits 1.6 miles off and takes the overflow. Check the position on Pine Lake before loading the car.
