Rain moving through today, with a faint SE drift and pressure on the rise. Whatever swims in Pass Lake should be near the shaded margin through bright spells. The day holds up well from morning through afternoon. Work the productive water thoroughly. Cooling water has fish active and on the move.

In Washington, Pass Lake falls inside Skagit County. What surrounds it is rolling hill. Surface area is around 95 acres, which gives you real water without needing a boat. The whole outline is near 1.7 miles, and most of it is walkable. On our Skagit County list it sits near the top for size. Ault Field is the closest town at 6 miles. Anacortes lies 6.5 miles off, Oak Harbor another 8.8 miles. The county line runs close by, so rules can change within a short drive.
No depth figure has reached our records, which makes a plummet useful. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Reported across Skagit County: Coho salmon, Chum salmon and pink salmon. Protected fish appear in the records for this area, so treat the list as information, not an invitation. Pass Lake gives up its fish to patience rather than distance.
Long-run averages give August about 61°F and January about 40°F. The year turns gently, without extremes at either end. It is not guaranteed from one year to the next. April and May are the settled weeks, with October close behind. Plan around that when you fish Pass Lake. Late evening often out-fishes the whole afternoon.
Ownership and access are not documented in what we hold. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. A boat ramp sits about half a mile from the water. Mapping shows a picnic spot within half a mile. Public toilets are recorded roughly half a mile off. Where access is informal, keep it that way by behaving. Night access is frequently treated as a separate matter. Trafton Lake at 1.2 miles is the sensible second choice. For Pass Lake in particular, ask before you travel.
