Overcast skies today, with a helpful ripple pushed from the ESE as pressure builds. Loch Eileen should fish best around the shaded margin through bright spells today. The day holds up well from morning through afternoon. Work the productive water thoroughly. Falling temperatures are switching fish back on.

This water sits in Chelan County, Washington. It sits at 5,505 feet above sea level. With some 25 acres of water, there is room for a boat but no need of one. On our Chelan County list it sits near the top for size. Leavenworth at 15 miles is the nearest place to stop. Then Cashmere, 25 miles, and Sunnyslope, 32 miles. No border sits close enough to matter.
We hold no depth figure for this one. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. Survey and observation records for Chelan County include cutthroat trout, rainbow trout and sockeye salmon. Several of these carry legal protection or closed seasons; the rulebook comes before the rod. Loch Eileen gives up more to patience than to distance.
The seasonal spread runs 21°F to 55°F. A solid cap is the normal state through winter. Hard water holds through the cold months, breaking up near early May. Ice clears near early May and comes back about mid November in a typical year. The open run goes from the thaw to the freeze, and April through October covers most of it. Anyone fishing Loch Eileen regularly works to that calendar.
Nothing on record says whether the bank is open or closed. No made access appears within a short radius, so plan to park on a verge and walk. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. Take the rules with you rather than trusting memory. Some stretches are reserved and marked as such on the ground. Lake Donald sits 0.4 miles off and takes the overflow. Nothing here settles the position at Loch Eileen for certain.
