No direct sun expected today, with light air out of the S and the barometer heading up. Whatever swims in Leprechaun Lake should be near any hard bottom among the soft. Block out the hours from morning through afternoon. Cover water early, then settle where the signs are. Autumn fish are feeding up and less fussy than in summer.

Leprechaun Lake stands in Chelan County, Washington. Beyond the shoreline you have mixed forest. Small at around 12 acres: two anglers spread out cover most of it. Compared with other Washington water on our list, it sits high. Start from Leavenworth, 10 miles down the road. Cashmere follows at 15 miles, then West Wenatchee at 20 miles. One jurisdiction covers this water end to end.
Depth is not on record here, so the bank has to tell you. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Weed, then depth: that is the order to fish a water of this kind. Fish documented in Chelan County include cutthroat trout, rainbow trout, sockeye salmon, Chinook salmon and largemouth bass. Several of these carry legal protection or closed seasons; the rulebook comes before the rod. Leprechaun Lake repays a walk before the first cast.
Climate normals give 55°F for August and 21°F for January. Four clear seasons, with a proper winter at one end. The lid usually sets by midwinter and gives way around early May. From about early May to around mid November, expect open water on the long-run figures. Fish feed hardest at the start and the close of the open season. On Leprechaun Lake the same rules apply, with local timing.
Access is not recorded for this water. Overnight stays are possible half a mile away. Facilities include toilets around half a mile from here. A small crankbait along the drop and a worm in the thick stuff cover the bass. Where access is informal, keep it that way by behaving. Some ground is open by custom rather than by right, so tread carefully. Failing this one, try Lake Viviane, 0.4 miles away. Ask locally about Leprechaun Lake if anything is unclear.
