Cloud from horizon to horizon today, with next to no ripple with the barometer flat. Expect most activity at Beaver Lake around the seam between weed and open water. The day holds up well from morning through afternoon. Work the productive water thoroughly. Falling temperatures are switching fish back on.

Beaver Lake sits within Clallam County in Washington. The surface lies 554 feet up. The water covers some 35 acres, so pick a bank rather than trying to cover it all. With about 0.9 miles of edge, you can try several depths in one session. It is among the larger waters listed here for Clallam County. Head to Forks, 13 miles away, for anything you forgot. Sooke is 30 miles and East Sooke 31 miles. The nearest boundary is a fair way off.
No depth figure has reached our records, which makes a plummet useful. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Reported across Clallam County: Coho salmon, rainbow trout and sockeye salmon. At least one recorded species is protected in parts of its range; read the local rules before targeting anything. On Beaver Lake the obvious spot is not always the productive one.
Expect August near 60°F and January near 37°F on the long-run figures. Most months fish reasonably, given the right weather. In a normal year the cover is thin and short-lived. February into May fishes hardest as the water warms. That is the shape of the year on Beaver Lake. Water colour tells you more than the air temperature does.
The rules here are undocumented as far as public sources go. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. Records list it as a fishing water. For the trout, small spinners and a box of nymphs cover both approaches. Sort the permit out before you load the car. A polite question at the farm gate opens more banks than anything else. If the gate is shut, Lake Pleasant at 4.8 miles is the nearest alternative. Signs at Beaver Lake carry more weight than any list.
