Cloud from horizon to horizon today, with light air out of the W with the glass slipping lower. Most of the action on Millers Pond should come off the shaded bank through the bright hours. The strongest window runs from afternoon into evening. Keep expectations modest and fish carefully. Autumn rewards covering water while the fish roam.

Millers Pond is one of the Bennington County waters in Vermont. The country here is rolling bush. At 19 acres it is the sort of place you fish for an evening rather than a day. The town to know is Arlington, 2.5 miles out. North Bennington is 8.5 miles away, with Cambridge at 11 miles. Others close at hand: Lake Shaftsbury at 1.6 miles, Beebe Pond out at 6.8 miles, Lost Pond at 7 miles, Barbos Lake out at 7.4 miles and Hopper Pond at 7.7 miles. This one sits near enough to a boundary to be worth checking.
Without a survey to go on, judge depth from how the bank falls away. Inflow corners move water, and moving water gathers fish. Points where the flooded channel swings in are the reliable ones. Survey and observation records for Bennington County include brook trout, brown trout, white sucker and brown bullhead. Those are county-wide records, so not every one of them will be in this water. Read Millers Pond before you fish it and the day goes better.
The year swings from about 18°F in January to roughly 67°F in July. Spring and autumn carry the fishing; summer and winter test it. Ice fishing carries the winter, and the water opens about early April. Averages suggest open water from about early April through to roughly mid December. The strongest runs come at either end of the open season. The season on Millers Pond rarely departs from it.
Nothing we hold confirms whether access is permitted. Mapping records no facilities at all near this water. A small crankbait along the drop and a worm in the thick stuff cover the bass. Parking is often the real limit rather than the bank itself. Close seasons apply to some species and not others. Lake Shaftsbury, 1.6 miles away, makes the obvious fallback. For Millers Pond, the notice at the access point is the final word.
