No cloud to trap the day's warmth tonight, with light air out of the S and no real change in pressure. Give whatever cover the water offers the first hour at Little Pond. The night is where the day comes good. Make the first hour count and build on it. Cooler water spreads fish back across the shallows.

Little Pond is listed under Washington County, Vermont. The setting is lake country bush on every side. It covers about 12 acres, so this is small water you can walk round in under an hour. It is one of the smaller waters we list in Washington County. Head to Hardwick, 7.1 miles away, for anything you forgot. For a city, Sherbrooke is 71 miles off. This one sits near enough to a boundary to be worth checking.
There is no published depth for this one, so start shallow and work out. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Records held for Washington County cover brook trout, rainbow trout and white sucker. These are county-wide records, so not all of them will be in this water. Take Little Pond a stretch at a time.
Temperature averages peak at 65°F in July and bottom out at 14°F in January. The freeze arrives properly here and holds. Expect a solid lid for months and a thaw around mid April. From about mid April to around early December, expect open water on the long-run figures. The open run goes from the thaw to the freeze, and April through October covers most of it. Plan any trip to Little Pond around it.
Our records carry no access rule either way. Worcester Woods runs up to the bank here, which usually means extra restrictions. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Season dates differ by species, so read the table. Night access is frequently treated as a separate matter. Hardwood Pond, 0.6 miles away, makes the obvious fallback. Signs at Little Pond carry more weight than any list.
