County-wide records name brook trout, rainbow trout and white sucker. What holds for the county may not hold for this water. Harriman Pond repays a walk before the first cast.
Long-run averages give July about 68°F and January about 16°F. Winter closes the water for a while, and the reopening is worth catching. Look for the thaw near early April; the fishing lifts straight after. Averages suggest open water from about early April through to roughly early December. The shoulder weeks of the open season are the productive ones. It holds true on Harriman Pond more years than not.
Whether the bank is open is not something our records settle. No launch point is recorded nearby, so this is a bank water unless you carry a boat in. A small crankbait along the drop and a worm in the thick stuff cover the bass. Look for a notice board at the entrance. Some stretches are reserved and marked as such on the ground.
