Overcast skies today, with air barely moving with pressure climbing. Expect most activity at Scott Lake around structure within a cast of the bank. The productive run goes the day. Start on the obvious water and expand from there. Autumn rewards covering water while the fish roam.

Montgomery County, Texas, is where Scott Lake sits. Around the bank it is warm bottomland. This is a pocket water of some 7 acres, and every part of it is reachable from the bank. Nearest place of any size is Conroe, 3.8 miles away. Panorama Village follows at 4.9 miles, then Willis at 8 miles. It lies deep inside the county rather than near an edge.
No figure exists for depth, so let the water show you. Points where the flooded channel swings in are the reliable ones. Inflow corners move water, and moving water gathers fish. Records collected within a few miles name largemouth bass, channel catfish, bluegill and blue catfish. That is what has been logged nearby, not a stocking list, so check local rules before you plan around any one species. The shape of Scott Lake rewards a slow walk along one bank.
Climate records put July near 83°F and January near 49°F. The whole calendar is open, with dawn and dusk the productive hours in summer. Heat pushes fish deep from June onwards, so start early. The cooler months are the comfortable ones to fish here. Time your trip to Scott Lake by conditions rather than dates.
Who may fish here is not settled in anything we hold. You will be walking about 0.9 miles from the nearest car park. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Where a permit is needed, the nearest town usually sells it. Some ground is open by custom rather than by right, so tread carefully. Country Club Lake at 1.2 miles is the sensible second choice. Ask locally about Scott Lake if anything is unclear.
