A clean, cloudless night over the water, with the water lying quiet and pressure leaking away. On Pelaez Lake, work reed fringes and open pockets first. Expect the better fishing from night into morning. Give the likely spots time before moving. Shortening days concentrate the feeding into fewer hours.

Pelaez Lake is a Bandera County water, Texas side. The ground around here is pine and hardwood. The water measures roughly 2 acres, so nothing here is far from anything else. It is one of the smaller waters we list in Bandera County. Medina sits 17 miles from the bank. San Antonio sits 66 miles out, and it is the nearest city worth the name. It lies deep inside the county rather than near an edge.
Without a survey to go on, judge depth from how the bank falls away. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. Nearby survey and observation records mention largemouth bass, longear sunfish, channel catfish, Rio Grande longear sunfish and warmouth. Presence in the area does not guarantee a fish in this exact water on the day. On Pelaez Lake the first feature you find is usually worth a session.
Between January at about 47°F and July at about 80°F, the water has a wide range to work through. Fish stay active all year, but they move with the heat. Heat pushes fish deep from June onwards, so start early. March through May is the strongest run, with October and November a second stretch. Expect Pelaez Lake to follow that timing.
Nothing we hold confirms whether access is permitted. Formal access is not mapped, so the last stretch is likely on foot. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Parking space is the usual limit rather than the bank itself. Some stretches are reserved and marked as such on the ground. The nearest alternative is Tatum Lake, 7.3 miles out. Check the current arrangement for Pelaez Lake.
