Blue sky from bank to bank today, with a light chop building from the ENE and a falling glass. Expect most activity at Marshall Lake around windblown banks where food collects. The strongest window runs from the day. Stay mobile and follow the activity. Fish follow the bait in autumn, so find one to find the other.

Marshall Lake is a Jasper County water, in Texas. It lies 285 feet above sea level. Small at around 25 acres: two anglers spread out cover most of it. By surface area it heads our Jasper County listings. Head to Jasper, 4.5 miles away, for anything you forgot. Beaumont is the closest city, 54 miles away. It sits well inside the county, so one set of rules covers it.
Open data we checked carries no depth for this water. Standing timber shows when the level drops, and fish sit against it. Draw-down through summer strips the margins, so follow the water out. Biodiversity records within roughly six miles include black crappie, bluegill and channel catfish. Take it as evidence of what swims here, not a promise for one session. Anyone new to Marshall Lake should walk it once before setting up.
Climate records put July near 82°F and January near 48°F. Fish stay active all year, but they move with the heat. Late winter and spring fish steadiest here. March through May is the strongest run, with October and November a second stretch. Marshall Lake runs to that rhythm year in and year out.
Our records carry no access rule either way. Nothing is mapped in the way of a ramp or car park within a short radius. For the catfish, fish bottom baits into the deeper holes and let them sit. Rules differ from one water to the next round here. Where parking is tight, arriving early solves most problems. If the gate is shut, Club Lake at 6.7 miles is the nearest alternative. None of that is settled for Marshall Lake in what we hold.
