Dull, settled light over the water, with a helpful ripple pushed from the NNE and pressure on the rise. The water to cover at Leisure Lake is the seam between weed and open water. Plan around the stretch from afternoon into evening. Keep moving until you find them. Shortening days concentrate the feeding into fewer hours.

Leisure Lake is one of the Montague County waters in Texas. The water sits 879 feet up. Roughly 37 acres: a morning covers one end, an afternoon the other. The town to know is Nocona, 5.7 miles out. The big place round here is Wichita Falls, 48 miles distant. There is no boundary nearby to worry about. The well known water nearby is Hubert M Moss Lake, 25 miles distant.
Depth is not on record here, which means reading the ground instead. Standing timber shows when the level drops, and fish sit against it. The old creek line under the surface is the feature worth finding. Nearby survey and observation records mention orangespotted sunfish and red shiner. Local agencies keep the authoritative list for each water. Read Leisure Lake for ten minutes before the first cast goes out.
Climate records put July near 84°F and January near 41°F. The surface stays open the year round. Heat pushes fish deep from June onwards, so start early. Late winter often fishes better here than midsummer does. The season on Leisure Lake rarely departs from it. As the season turns, fish follow food rather than temperature alone.
Who may fish here is not settled in anything we hold. Formal access is not mapped, so the last stretch is likely on foot. Bluegill and other panfish take small jigs or worms under a float near any cover. Parking space is the usual limit rather than the bank itself. Night access is frequently treated as a separate matter. For a change of water, Lake Nocona is 1.7 miles distant. Nothing here settles the position at Leisure Lake for certain.
