A half-and-half sky over the water today, with an easy breeze from the NE and pressure on the rise. Most of the action on Lake Irine should come off the shallows early and the drop later. The strongest window runs from night into morning. Stay mobile and follow the activity. Fish follow the bait in autumn, so find one to find the other.

Lake Irine is listed under Grimes County, Texas. It stands 299 feet above sea level. The water covers some 49 acres, so pick a bank rather than trying to cover it all. On our Grimes County list it sits near the top for size. For supplies, Madisonville is 17 miles out. It is 24 miles to College Station, the nearest city. The county line is nowhere near, so one local authority covers the water.
Our records hold no depth for this water. Inflow corners move water, and moving water gathers fish. The arms fish better than the open middle whenever the water is up. Documented catches and surveys in the area cover blue catfish. Reported species tell you what lives around here, nothing more. Take Lake Irine a stretch at a time.
Climate records put August near 83°F and January near 49°F. The year runs unbroken and warm. Heat pushes fish deep from June onwards, so start early. April and May are the settled weeks, with October close behind. Keep it in mind when planning a trip to Lake Irine. Late evening often out-fishes the whole afternoon.
There is no clear statement anywhere on who can fish it. No slipway, car park or made path shows up nearby in mapping, so treat access as rough. For the catfish, fish bottom baits into the deeper holes and let them sit. Check locally before you travel, because a wasted drive is a long one. Check whether bait restrictions apply before you buy any. For a change of water, Eichenour Lake is 1.6 miles distant. None of that is settled for Lake Irine in what we hold.
