Soft grey light all day today, with a faint NE drift and pressure leaking away. The water to cover at Lake Casa Blanca is the calm side of the wind. The day fishes best from the day. Fish confidently and change only when the bites stop. Fish before the heat builds or after it breaks.

This water sits in Webb County, Texas. Everything around it is warm bottomland. This is sizeable water at about 1,049 acres, and a boat opens up most of it. Some 8.0 miles of bank gives room to move when the wind turns. Among the waters listed for Webb County, none is wider. Laredo is the closest town at 5.5 miles. Rio Bravo follows at 13 miles, then El Cenizo at 14 miles. The nearest boundary is a fair way off.
There is no published depth for this one, so start shallow and work out. A reservoir gives you a hard edge, a shelf, and not much else. Standing timber shows when the level drops, and fish sit against it. Documented catches and surveys in the area cover channel catfish, Florida largemouth bass, largemouth bass and walleye. Local agencies keep the authoritative list for each water. Fish Lake Casa Blanca where the bottom changes rather than where it looks deep.
July runs about 87°F on average, January about 56°F. Fish feed through every month here. The cooler months are the comfortable ones to be out. February into May fishes hardest as the water warms. Plan around that when you fish Lake Casa Blanca. After heavy rain, give the water a day to settle.
Who may fish here is not settled in anything we hold. A launch point is recorded some half a mile off. The closest car park is half a mile away, so pack accordingly. A jetty or pier is mapped about half a mile from here. There is a toilet block some half a mile out. Look for a notice board at the entrance. Rules for boats are stricter than rules for the bank in many places. Manadas Creek Lake, 5.2 miles away, makes the obvious fallback. Check the position on Lake Casa Blanca before loading the car.
