Overcast skies today, with just enough E wind to ripple the surface and pressure sitting still. Fish at Lake Anahuac should hold close to structure within a cast of the bank. Plan around the stretch from the day. Keep moving until you find them. Autumn rewards covering water while the fish roam.

Lake Anahuac is set in Chambers County, Texas. The country here is warm green lowland. It covers about 7.9 sq miles, which means weather matters as much as tactics. The edge covers about 10 miles, enough to hold several distinct areas. It is the biggest water on our Chambers County list. The closest town, Anahuac, is 2.1 miles distant. The big place round here is Pasadena, 32 miles distant. One jurisdiction covers this water end to end.
Depth here is unknown, so count the lead down before committing. This is tidal water: the state of the tide decides where fish sit, so plan the session around it. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Some of the species recorded here are protected or tightly regulated, so check what may be targeted before you fish. Lake Anahuac gives up its fish to patience rather than distance.
Long-term averages put July at about 83°F and January near 52°F. There is no dead season here at all. October and November give a second good stretch as it cools. April and May are the settled weeks, with October close behind. Expect Lake Anahuac to follow that timing. Long daylight spreads the feeding across more hours.
Who may fish here is not settled in anything we hold. Mapping shows no built access close by; expect to walk in from wherever you can leave the car. For the catfish, fish bottom baits into the deeper holes and let them sit. Season dates differ by species, so read the table. Barbless rules turn up on managed water more often than not. Peterson Lake at 3.9 miles is the sensible second choice. Confirm access to Lake Anahuac locally before you travel.
