A still, cloudless night on the water, with flat calm through the day with pressure climbing. Fish at Camp Lake should hold close to bays that hold the day's warmth. The strongest window runs from morning through afternoon. Stay mobile and follow the activity. The heat is the story today; plan around it.

This water sits in Wood County, Texas. Country round the bank runs to dry hill. This is a pocket water of some 2 acres, and every part of it is reachable from the bank. It is one of the smaller waters we list in Wood County. Head to Mineola, 3.5 miles away, for anything you forgot. The big place round here is Tyler, 25 miles distant. Rules can differ a short way off, since the county line is near.
No chart reached our records; the first cast is your sounding. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Fish reported in the area, according to open records, include Florida largemouth bass, bluegill, bowfin and redspotted sunfish. Records show what people reported, not what is stocked. At Camp Lake the first feature you find is worth twenty minutes.
Expect July near 82°F and January near 44°F on the long-run figures. The year never really closes; it just gets uncomfortable in summer. October and November give a second good stretch as it cools. Spring and autumn carry the year; summer squeezes it into the ends of the day. Expect Camp Lake to follow that timing.
No access rule appears in what we hold. Mapping shows an empty shoreline: no ramp, no jetty, no marked entry. A small crankbait along the drop and a worm in the thick stuff cover the bass. Where the road in crosses private land, ask first. Fishing rules and camping rules are set separately here. Grassy Lake at 0.2 miles is the sensible second choice. Confirm before you fish Camp Lake.
