A sharp, clear morning turning into a bright day, with light air out of the SW and pressure on the rise. Expect most activity at Pinnacle Lake around the weed line and any gaps in it. Plan around the stretch from night into morning. Keep moving until you find them. The autumn feed-up is on; baitfish areas are the key.

Pinnacle Lake falls in Pickens County, part of South Carolina. The bank gives way to pine and hardwood. With some 25 acres of water, there is room for a boat but no need of one. Compared with other South Carolina water on our list, it sits high. The closest town, Pickens, is 10 miles distant. Athens sits 83 miles out, and it is the nearest city worth the name. The line between counties passes nearby, which can change who manages the water.
Depth here is unknown, so count the lead down before committing. The old creek line under the surface is the feature worth finding. Held water runs deepest at the wall and shallows back to the inflow. Reported across Pickens County: bluegill, redbreast sunfish, seagreen darter, striped jumprock and green sunfish. Records at this level tell you what is in the area. On Pinnacle Lake that means starting tight and working out.
Seasonal averages run from 38°F in January up to 74°F in July. Fish stay active all year, but they move with the heat. Heat pushes fish deep from June onwards, so start early. November and March are the quiet, comfortable months to be out. At Pinnacle Lake the season follows that pattern closely.
Public sources are silent on who controls the bank. You can launch: the ramp is half a mile away. Public data has parking about half a mile from the shore. Mapping shows a jetty some half a mile off. Facilities include toilets around half a mile from here. Take the rules with you rather than trusting memory. Barbless rules turn up on managed water more often than not. Should this one be busy, Reeds Run is 1 mile off. Check the current arrangement for Pinnacle Lake.
