Sunshine start to finish today, with light air out of the NE as pressure slides. Activity on Haithcock Pond should centre on the closest cover to deeper water. A long productive spell runs afternoon into evening. Make the first hour count and build on it. Autumn fish are feeding up and less fussy than in summer.

Haithcock Pond is one of the Richland County listings for South Carolina. It sits in dry hill country. Small at around 21 acres: two anglers spread out cover most of it. Gadsden is the closest place, 8 miles off. Hopkins is 8 miles and Woodfield 12 miles. No county line comes close, which keeps the paperwork simple. It is easier to fish well than to fish quickly.
There is no recorded depth, so work from what you can see. The arms fish better than the open middle whenever the water is up. Draw-down through summer strips the margins, so follow the water out. Biodiversity records within roughly six miles include dollar sunfish, tadpole madtom, largemouth bass, seagreen darter and yellow bullhead. Records show what people reported, not what is stocked. Anyone new to Haithcock Pond should walk it once before setting up.
July runs about 80°F on average, January about 44°F. Cold never closes this one. March through May is the strongest run, with autumn a second stretch. June to September is hot work, so the first and last hours are what count. It sets the rhythm of the year at Haithcock Pond. After heavy rain, give the water a day to settle.
Nothing we hold confirms whether access is permitted. There is no recorded infrastructure here; expect to find your own way in. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. Where access is informal, keep it that way by behaving. Where the way in crosses private ground, ask first. Caughmans Pond, 2.5 miles away, makes the obvious fallback. Check the position at Haithcock Pond before loading the car.
