Drifting cloud with decent bright gaps, with a useful E wind pushing food about with the barometer flat. Start the search at Gregory Pond along gaps in the weed within a lob. Block out the hours from night into morning. Cover water early, then settle where the signs are. Autumn fish are feeding up and less fussy than in summer.

Gregory Pond is listed under Jasper County, South Carolina. The shore lies 1.7 miles out. The water measures roughly 20 acres, so nothing here is far from anything else. It is the biggest water on our Jasper County list. Start from Laurel Bay, 3.7 miles down the road. Then Burton, 6.9 miles, and Shell Point, 7 miles. A border sits close enough to be relevant to the paperwork.
There is no recorded depth, so work from what you can see. Look for where the old bank line still shows under the surface. Built water gives depth close in, which suits a bank angler. Public wildlife records from this area list American eel, green sunfish, silver mullet and sheepshead. Several of these carry legal protection or closed seasons; the rulebook comes before the rod. On Gregory Pond the first feature you find is usually worth a session.
Averages here run 81°F at the top of summer and 49°F at the bottom of winter. Cold never becomes a factor on this one. The cooler months are the comfortable ones to be out. March through May is the strongest run, with October and November a second stretch. On Gregory Pond the same rules apply, with local timing.
Public data does not answer the access question here. No car park, ramp or path is recorded within easy reach of the shore. Light line and small metal for the trout; a fly rod earns its place on calm evenings. Rules for this water may differ from the county norm. Fishing rules and camping rules are set separately here. Big Pond, 1.2 miles away, makes the obvious fallback. Check the position on Gregory Pond before loading the car.
