A crisp, open sky after dark, with steady pressure of wind from the SSW with pressure dropping. Activity on Omega Pond should centre on margins first, middle later. Expect the better fishing from night into morning. Give the likely spots time before moving. Autumn fish are feeding up and less fussy than in summer.

The Providence County end of Rhode Island holds Omega Pond. Salt water lies 1.9 miles off. With some 33 acres of water, there is room for a boat but no need of one. It is low-lying compared with other Rhode Island water we list. Some 1.7 miles away sits East Providence, the nearest settlement. Seekonk follows at 2.5 miles, then Providence at 2.7 miles. Two sets of local rules meet not far from this water.
Depth remains unrecorded, so treat the first session as a survey. Points where the flooded channel swings in are the reliable ones. The arms fish better than the open middle whenever the water is up. Records held for Providence County cover bluegill, common carp and pumpkinseed. Several of these carry legal protection or closed seasons; the rulebook comes before the rod. Anyone new to Omega Pond should walk it once before setting up.
Typical July readings run about 73°F; by January the average is down near 27°F. A lid forms in a hard winter only. In milder years the edges alone go, and the middle never sets. The hot months push the fishing to dawn and dusk. Time your trip to Omega Pond by conditions rather than dates.
Whether the bank is open is not something our records settle. A car park lies half a mile away, so the walk in is short. Mapping shows a jetty some half a mile off. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Take the rules with you rather than trusting memory. Access can change hands, so last year's answer may not hold. James V Turner Reservoir at 1.4 miles is the sensible second choice. None of that is settled for Omega Pond in what we hold.
