Low, flat cloud sitting over the water, with a persistent wind from the WSW and the barometer on the way down. Mokoma Lake should fish best around the weed line and any gaps in it today. Expect the better fishing from night into morning. Give the likely spots time before moving. Cooling water has fish active and on the move.

Mokoma Lake is a Sullivan County water, in Pennsylvania. It sits in pine and birch country. Surface area is around 105 acres, which gives you real water without needing a boat. The edge runs 2.5 miles or so, easy to work in an afternoon. Head to Hughesville, 17 miles away, for anything you forgot. It is 76 miles to Allentown, the nearest city. It lies deep inside the county rather than near an edge.
No depth figure has reached our records, which makes a plummet useful. Inflow corners move water, and moving water gathers fish. Built water gives depth close in, which suits a bank angler. Across Sullivan County, recorded fish include brown trout, brook trout and yellow perch. Records at county level tell you what is around, not what is stocked here. On Mokoma Lake the quiet end is the one worth the extra effort.
The warm month here averages 67°F; the cold one sits at 21°F. A solid cap is the normal state through winter. The lid usually goes in early April, which opens the strongest weeks of the year. The season between ice runs from about early April to mid December. Just after the ice goes and just before it returns, the fishing lifts. Plan any trip to Mokoma Lake around it.
There is no clear statement anywhere on who can fish it. The car has to stay half a mile away, which shapes how much tackle you bring. The water borders Elklick Run Wilderness Area, so reserve rules are likely to apply. A small crankbait along the drop and a worm in the thick stuff cover the bass. Parking space is the usual limit rather than the bank itself. A polite question at the farm gate opens more banks than anything else. Failing this one, try Sones Pond, 4.2 miles away. None of that is settled for Mokoma Lake in what we hold.
