Broken cloud drifting past the moon tonight, with an easy breeze from the S and steady pressure. The productive water at Lake Nessmuk will be around points where shallow meets deep. Block out the hours from the day. Cover water early, then settle where the signs are. Cooler water spreads fish back across the shallows.

Night
Look for Lake Nessmuk in Tioga County, Pennsylvania. This is pine and birch ground. Around 58 acres of surface means several distinct areas to work. Shoreline comes to about 1.3 miles, small enough to learn in a day. The town to know is Wellsboro, 1.4 miles out. For a city, Rochester is 100 miles off. The county line is nowhere near, so one local authority covers the water.
Depth here is unknown, so count the lead down before committing. The old creek line under the surface is the feature worth finding. Rip-rap along the wall holds fish that the open bank never does. Records held for Tioga County cover yellow perch, bluegill, black crappie and brown bullhead. Those are county-wide records, so not every one of them will be in this water. Work Lake Nessmuk in sections rather than trying to cover it.
The year swings from about 22°F in January to roughly 67°F in July. Fishing here follows the temperature more than the calendar. Ice is part of the season here, ending near early April. In an average year the thaw lands around early April and the freeze near mid December. Just after the ice goes and just before it returns, the fishing lifts. On Lake Nessmuk the same rules apply, with local timing.
The access position is unclear from public sources. No car park, ramp or path is recorded within easy reach of the shore. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. Where a permit is needed, the nearest town usually sells it. Fishing rules and camping rules are set separately here. The nearest alternative is Kelsey Creek Lake, 1.2 miles out. Rules at Lake Nessmuk are worth checking on the day.
