Cloud coming and going through the night, with a mirror surface most of the day and pressure easing off. Hunter Lake should fish best around the weed line and any gaps in it today. Block out the hours from the day. Cover water early, then settle where the signs are. Cooler water spreads fish back across the shallows.

Hunter Lake lies in Monroe County, Pennsylvania. Everything around it is pine and birch. Tannersville is the closest place, 2.3 miles off. The nearest city of size is Allentown, 29 miles away. Within a short drive: Pinemere Lake a touch under 1 mile, Trout Lake near enough 1.4 miles, Laurel Lake a touch under 1.8 miles, Grubers Lake near enough 2.2 miles and Mountain Spring Lake a touch under 2.3 miles. It sits well inside the county, so one set of rules covers it.
Depth remains unrecorded, so treat the first session as a survey. Built water gives depth close in, which suits a bank angler. The arms fish better than the open middle whenever the water is up. Across Monroe County, recorded fish include brown trout, brook trout, bluegill and largemouth bass. Those are county-wide records, so not every one of them will be in this water. On Hunter Lake the obvious spot is not always the productive one.
Average temperature peaks around 70°F in July and bottoms out near 25°F in January. The year splits cleanly: hard water, then open water. Look for the thaw near late March; the fishing lifts straight after. Ice clears near late March and comes back about late December in a typical year. From the thaw to midsummer the fishing improves week by week. Anyone fishing Hunter Lake regularly works to that calendar.
No access rule appears in what we hold. Parking sits half a mile out, which makes for a walk with tackle. Overnight stays are possible about half a mile out, where camping is mapped. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Rules for this water may differ from the county norm. Night access is frequently treated as a separate matter. Pinemere Lake at 1 mile is the sensible second choice. None of that is settled for Hunter Lake in what we hold.
