Overcast skies today, with a useful NW wind pushing food about and pressure on the rise. Fish at Scott Park Pond should hold close to any feature that breaks the open water. The day fishes best from the day. Fish confidently and change only when the bites stop. The autumn feed-up is on; baitfish areas are the key.

Scott Park Pond is one of the Lucas County waters in Ohio. The water sits 620 feet up. At roughly 3 acres, the whole thing is within casting reach of a single walk. Our Lucas County list holds plenty of bigger water. For a base, Toledo sits 2.5 miles out. For a city, Toledo is 2.5 miles off. Rules can differ a short way off, since the county line is near.
We hold no survey for this water; read the slope of the shoreline instead. Built water gives depth close in, which suits a bank angler. The arms fish better than the open middle whenever the water is up. County-wide records name white perch, common carp, goldfish and gizzard shad. Species recorded across the county may be limited to a few waters. Scott Park Pond fishes better once you know its edges.
Long-run averages give July about 74°F and January about 24°F. A full turn of seasons, with the strongest sport on either side of summer. After mid March the shallows warm and the fish move up. From about mid March to around late December, expect open water on the long-run figures. The strongest runs come at either end of the open season. Anyone fishing Scott Park Pond regularly works to that calendar.
Our records carry no access rule either way. Park at Lot 22W, 120 yards from the water. For the catfish, fish bottom baits into the deeper holes and let them sit. Take the rules with you rather than trusting memory. Keep proof of licence with you rather than in the car. Lake Sawyer sits 5.3 miles off and takes the overflow. Nothing here settles the position at Scott Park Pond for certain.
