An even grey lid over the water, with a persistent wind from the WNW and a rising glass. The water to cover at Park Lake is bays that hold the day's warmth. The day holds up well from the day. Work the productive water thoroughly. The autumn feed-up is on; baitfish areas are the key.

Park Lake is one of the Summit County waters in Ohio. Beyond the shoreline you have mixed woodland. Small at around 12 acres: two anglers spread out cover most of it. Supplies mean a trip to Munroe Falls, 1.2 miles off. Then Stow, 2.1 miles, and Tallmadge, 2.3 miles. Within a short drive: Carter Lake at 0.6 miles, Silver Lake 2.5 miles, Crystal Lake at 3.1 miles, Alder Pond 3.9 miles and Silver Springs Lake at 4.4 miles. It sits near the edge of the county, so check which rules apply.
Depth here is unknown, so count the lead down before committing. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Survey and observation records for Summit County include bluegill, rainbow darter, common carp, fantail darter and pumpkinseed. These are county-wide records, so not all of them will be in this water. The near bank of Park Lake is often the one people ignore.
On the long-term average, July reads 72°F and January reads 25°F. The year gives four workable seasons without severe ends. In a normal year the cover is thin and short-lived. Autumn steadies things again once the heat lets go. Park Lake runs to that rhythm year in and year out. Barometric swings often matter more than the calendar.
The access position is unclear from public sources. Launching is possible: a slipway lies 140 yards off. Parking within 150 yards means no long carry with tackle. Mapping shows a jetty some 150 yards off. A picnic area is mapped about 90 yards away. There are toilets 160 yards off. Check locally before you travel, because a wasted drive is a long one. Some stretches are reserved and marked as such on the ground. Carter Lake at 0.6 miles is the sensible second choice. Rules at Park Lake are worth checking on the day.
