No direct sun expected today, with a proper ripple driven from the NW and pressure ticking upward. On Miller Lake, work any hard bottom among the soft first. Block out the hours from the day. Cover water early, then settle where the signs are. The pre-winter feed makes autumn days generous.

Miller Lake is one of the Hancock County waters in Ohio. Mixed forest runs right down to the water. At 17 acres it is the sort of place you fish for an evening rather than a day. It is a small entry by Hancock County standards. The closest town, McComb, is 4.2 miles distant. Findlay is 8 miles away, with Leipsic at 10 miles. The line between counties passes nearby, which can change who manages the water.
Depth is unmeasured here, so let the shoreline guide you. Built water gives depth close in, which suits a bank angler. The old creek line under the surface is the feature worth finding. Fish documented in Hancock County include rainbow darter, green sunfish, northern sunfish, golden redhorse and bluegill. Species recorded across the county may be limited to a few waters. The near bank of Miller Lake is often the one people ignore.
In an average year July sits at 73°F and January at 24°F. A full turn of seasons, with the strongest sport on either side of summer. Ice-out usually falls in late March, and the weeks after it fish hardest. In an average year the thaw lands around late March and the freeze near late December. June through September is the settled part of the year, with the shoulders busier for fish. It sets the rhythm of the year at Miller Lake.
No access rule appears in what we hold. No slipway, car park or made path shows up nearby in mapping, so treat access as rough. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. Some banks are open only from a marked point. Some stretches are reserved and marked as such on the ground. Should this one be busy, McComb Upground Reservoir Number Two is 4.2 miles off. Rules at Miller Lake are worth checking on the day.
