A clean, cloudless night over the water, with a persistent wind from the WSW with pressure dropping. The water to cover at Eds Lake is the first drop-off and weed lines. The best of it runs night into morning. Push the good hours hard and rest through the dead ones. Shortening days concentrate the feeding into fewer hours.

Ohio holds Eds Lake, in Medina County. The country round it is rolling bush from end to end. Small at around 6 acres: two anglers spread out cover most of it. Compared with other Ohio water on our list, it sits high. The closest town, Medina, is 3.9 miles distant. Seville is 6.2 miles and Wadsworth 6.6 miles. It sits well inside its county, with no border complications.
Depth figures are not published for this one. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. County-wide records name bluegill, johnny darter, rainbow darter and fantail darter. Species recorded across the county may be limited to a few waters. On Eds Lake the first feature you find is usually worth a session.
Average temperature peaks around 71°F in July and bottoms out near 24°F in January. Expect a real winter and a strong spring after it. Break-up comes around late March, and the run that follows is short and strong. Average temperatures cross freezing around late March in spring and again near late December in autumn. From the thaw to midsummer the fishing improves week by week. Expect Eds Lake to follow that timing.
Who may fish here is not settled in anything we hold. Nothing is mapped in the way of a ramp or car park within a short radius. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Where the road in crosses private land, ask first. Some water is controlled locally without a sign saying so. Siedel Lake, 0.6 miles away, makes the obvious fallback. Check the position at Eds Lake before loading the car.
