A half-covered sky tonight, with a working N breeze and pressure on the rise. Give inflow corners and shaded margins the first hour at Lake Mann. If you must go, go in the middle of the day. Keep baits small and presentations quiet. Bundle up; the fishing will be slow but not impossible.

Night
Look for Lake Mann in Sargent County, North Dakota. This is pine and birch ground. At about 45 acres, a day is enough to walk the shoreline properly. The edge runs 1.0 miles or so, easy to work in an afternoon. It is a small entry by Sargent County standards. The nearest place of any size is Britton, 19 miles away. It is 69 miles to Fargo, the nearest city. No county line comes close, which keeps the paperwork simple.
The records we hold are silent on depth, so plan to find it yourself. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. Public occurrence data for Sargent County names bluegill and white crappie. Records at this level tell you what is in the area. Lake Mann gives up more to patience than to distance.
Between January at about 8°F and July at about 71°F, the water has a wide range to work through. A solid cap is the normal state through winter. Ice-out usually falls in mid April, and the weeks after it fish hardest. On average, mid April opens the water and late November closes it again. Look to early summer and the first cool weeks of autumn. Keep it in mind when planning a trip to Lake Mann.
The access position is unclear from public sources. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. You can launch: the ramp is half a mile away. A pier or jetty stands half a mile away, which helps on a crowded bank. Bluegill and other panfish take small jigs or worms under a float near any cover. Parking space is the usual limit rather than the bank itself. Where the way in crosses private ground, ask first. Sprague Lake at 0.6 miles is the sensible second choice. For Lake Mann, the notice at the access point is the final word.
