Stars out and no cloud tonight, with next to no ripple and pressure on the rise. Give the margins and the shelf beyond them the first hour at Marsh Lake. A long productive spell runs night into morning. Make the first hour count and build on it. Shortening days concentrate the feeding into fewer hours.

You will find Marsh Lake in Union County, North Carolina. The ground round it is oak and grass. This is a pocket water of some 10 acres, and every part of it is reachable from the bank. The closest town, Marshville, is 1.9 miles distant. Charlotte is the closest city, 33 miles away. Water in the same corner: Brewer Lake after 6.5 miles, Collins Lake just 8.6 miles, Lake Twitty after 8.9 miles, Lake Lee just 8.9 miles and Lake Monroe after 9.6 miles. Local rules may differ a few miles either side of here.
Depth is unmeasured here, so let the shoreline guide you. Levels move with the draw rather than the rain on water like this. Draw-down through summer strips the margins, so follow the water out. Fish documented in Union County include green sunfish, bluegill, redbreast sunfish and pumpkinseed. These are county-wide records, so not all of them will be in this water. On Marsh Lake the first feature you find is usually worth a session.
The seasonal spread runs 41°F to 79°F. Winter here means light layers, not lost months. Heat pushes fish deep from June onwards, so start early. The hot months push the fishing to dawn and dusk. That shapes the year on Marsh Lake. Spring fish sit shallower than most people expect.
Whether the bank is open is not something our records settle. Nothing is mapped in the way of a ramp or car park within a short radius. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. Look for a notice board at the entrance. Keep proof of licence with you rather than in the car. Brewer Lake sits 6.5 miles off and takes the overflow. For Marsh Lake, the notice at the access point is the final word.
