Terrace Lake Fishing Guide, Passaic County, New Jersey

• Overview

Terrace Lake is one of the Passaic County waters in New Jersey. Elevation runs to 518 feet. Small at around 4 acres: two anglers spread out cover most of it. It is one of the smaller waters we list in Passaic County. Kinnelon sits 0.7 miles from the bank. Paterson sits 12 miles out, and it is the nearest city worth the name. Local rules may differ a few miles either side of here.

• Where to Fish on Terrace Lake

Depth is unknown to us, and the shoreline is the better guide. The old creek line under the surface is the feature worth finding. Levels move with the draw rather than the rain on water like this. Species logged across Passaic County include brown trout, walleye, brook trout, bluegill and largemouth bass. County records show the wider picture rather than this one place. At Terrace Lake the water rewards a slow, careful approach.

• Seasonal Patterns

Expect July near 71°F and January near 26°F on the long-run figures. Ice comes and goes from one year to the next. It is not guaranteed from one year to the next. Spring and autumn carry the year; summer squeezes it into the ends of the day. It holds true on Terrace Lake more years than not.

• Tackle & Baits

Nothing on record says whether the bank is open or closed. Mapping shows parking within half a mile. There is a campsite half a mile from the water. Picnic facilities are recorded some half a mile out. Part of this sits inside or beside Kinnelon Borough Open Space, so read the notices. Season dates differ by species, so read the table. Signs go up and come down, so check on the day. Cold Spring Lake at 0.6 miles is the sensible second choice. Ask locally about Terrace Lake if anything is unclear.
