A crisp, open sky after dark, with calm air over the water and the barometer heading up. Activity on Glen Lake should centre on shallow cover and weed edges. A broad window opens from night into morning. Commit to the pattern once the first fish shows. The pre-winter feed makes autumn days generous.

Glen Lake falls in Gloucester County, part of New Jersey. It stands 141 feet above sea level. The far bank is a conversation away, so keep low and quiet. On size it sits at the modest end of our Gloucester County list. Pitman is the closest town at 0.7 miles. After that come Glassboro at 1.6 miles and Richwood at 2.1 miles. Rules can differ a short way off, since the county line is near.
Depth is unknown to us, and the shoreline is the better guide. Bays and points beat straight shoreline every time on water like this. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. County-wide records name bluegill, pumpkinseed, redbreast sunfish and largemouth bass. Several of these carry legal protection or closed seasons; the rulebook comes before the rod. On Glen Lake that means starting tight and working out.
Between January at about 32°F and July at about 76°F, the water has a wide range to work through. Spring and autumn are the strongest, but nothing is truly closed. It is not guaranteed even in a cold spell, so check yourself. Late winter often fishes better here than midsummer does. The season on Glen Lake follows the weather closely.
Whether the bank is open is not something our records settle. Public data has parking about half a mile from the shore. A small crankbait along the drop and a worm in the thick stuff cover the bass. Read any posted signs at the access point rather than assuming. Where parking is tight, arriving early solves most problems. Alcyon Lake, 1.1 miles away, makes the obvious fallback. Confirm before you fish Glen Lake.
