Long Lake lies in Wright County, Minnesota. It sits at 915 feet above sea level. It runs to roughly 95 acres — big enough to hold fish away from the bank, small enough to learn. About 2.4 miles of bank, so nothing stays unexplored for long. It lies lower than most water we list in Minnesota. Monticello lies 2.8 miles from the water. Beyond it, Big Lake at 5.8 miles and Becker at 7.4 miles. This one sits near enough to a boundary to be worth checking.
No depth figure appears in our records, so the bank has to tell you. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. County-wide records name largemouth bass, bluegill, black crappie, yellow perch and common carp. Read it as a county summary, not a water-by-water list. Anyone new to Long Lake should walk it once before setting up.
Temperature averages peak at 71°F in July and bottom out at 11°F in January. A hard winter is normal, and the thaw brings a strong few weeks. Hard cover is dependable here; it goes around early April. The season between ice runs from about early April to late November. The strongest runs come at either end of the open season. Anyone fishing Long Lake regularly works to that calendar.
Access status is simply unknown for this water. There is a launch about half a mile from the bank. A pier half a mile from here gives a platform over deeper water. You can camp about half a mile away, going by the mapping. Toilets are half a mile away, which matters on a long session. Read any posted signs at the access point rather than assuming. Fishing rules and camping rules are set separately here. Should this one be busy, Bertram Lake is 0.4 miles off. For Long Lake, the notice at the access point is the final word.
