A still, cloudless night on the water, with flat calm through the day and pressure sitting still. Fish at Lippert Lake should hold close to points where shallow meets deep. The day fishes best from afternoon into evening. Fish confidently and change only when the bites stop. Autumn rewards covering water while the fish roam.

Night
Minnesota holds Lippert Lake, in Carver County. Elevation runs to 915 feet. Roughly 61 acres: a morning covers one end, an afternoon the other. With about 1.7 miles of edge, you can try several depths in one session. By elevation it sits in the lower part of our Minnesota listings. Mayer at 2.4 miles is the nearest place to stop. Minneapolis is the closest city, 31 miles away. Local rules may differ a few miles either side of here.
Depth remains unrecorded, so treat the first session as a survey. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Open biodiversity records for Carver County list bluegill, largemouth bass, common carp, black crappie and pumpkinseed. Records at this level tell you what is in the area. Lippert Lake gives up more to patience than to distance.
The seasonal spread runs 11°F to 72°F. A hard winter is normal, and the thaw brings a strong few weeks. The lid arrives early and lasts until roughly early April. The open-water window runs from around early April to about late November in an average year. Just after the ice goes and just before it returns, the fishing lifts. Plan around that when you fish Lippert Lake.
Whether the bank is open is not something our records settle. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. There is no mapped parking or launch nearby, which keeps numbers down. A small crankbait along the drop and a worm in the thick stuff cover the bass. Where a permit is needed, the nearest town usually sells it. Access can change hands, so last year's answer may not hold. Goose Lake sits 3.4 miles off and takes the overflow. What applies at Lippert Lake may have changed since it was mapped.
