No direct sun expected today, with stillness over the whole water and pressure going nowhere. Give the seam between weed and open water the first hour at Lake Camelot. The forecast backs the stretch from night into morning. Ride the conditions while they last. Shortening days concentrate the feeding into fewer hours.

Lake Camelot is a Hennepin County water, in Minnesota. The bank is 955 feet above sea level. Surface area runs to about 22 acres — small enough to read in one session. By elevation it sits in the lower part of our Minnesota listings. Maple Grove is the closest place, 0.9 miles off. After that come Plymouth at 3.4 miles and New Hope at 3.9 miles. No border sits close enough to matter.
Depth is not on record here, which means reading the ground instead. This is a lake, so the margins and the first drop matter most. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Hennepin County records list bluegill, common carp, largemouth bass, pumpkinseed and black crappie among the fish reported. The county figures include rivers and lakes alike. At Lake Camelot light and wind decide more than tackle does.
In an average year July sits at 72°F and January at 12°F. Spring and autumn carry the fishing; summer and winter test it. The freeze runs deep into the year, with break-up near early April. Going by climate averages, expect open water from about early April until roughly late November. The strong weeks are the first after break-up and the last before the freeze. Keep it in mind when planning a trip to Lake Camelot.
Ownership and access are not documented in what we hold. There is recorded parking some half a mile off. Toilets are half a mile away, which matters on a long session. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Parking space is the usual limit rather than the bank itself. Where tickets apply, they are sold in the nearest town rather than on the bank. If the gate is shut, Pomerleau Lake at 0.6 miles is the nearest alternative. Check the position on Lake Camelot before loading the car.
