A closed sky with even light today, with a soft ESE wind and pressure leaking away. The fish at Lake Alice are likely to sit near windblown banks where food collects. Expect the better fishing from night into morning. Give the likely spots time before moving. Fish follow the bait in autumn, so find one to find the other.

Minnesota holds Lake Alice, in Washington County. The ground around here is rolling bush. Roughly 26 acres: a morning covers one end, an afternoon the other. It is a small entry by Washington County standards. The town to know is Scandia, 3.2 miles out. After that come Osceola at 7.5 miles and Somerset at 7.9 miles. It sits near the edge of the county, so check which rules apply.
Depth is not on record here, which means reading the ground instead. Rip-rap along the wall holds fish that the open bank never does. A reservoir gives you a hard edge, a shelf, and not much else. Species logged across Washington County include bluegill, largemouth bass, brown trout, northern pike and black crappie. Take it as the county picture rather than a promise for this water. Lake Alice responds to conditions more than to tactics.
Climate records put July near 71°F and January near 12°F. The freeze arrives properly here and holds. Count the season from break-up, usually early April. Average temperatures cross freezing around early April in spring and again near late November in autumn. Reckon on open water from spring through to late autumn, with May and June the strongest. That is the shape of the year on Lake Alice.
Ownership and access are not documented in what we hold. A launch point is recorded some half a mile off. You can park 110 yards away and walk in from there. There is a pier recorded roughly half a mile away. Mapping marks a fishing place roughly half a mile off. Overnight stays are possible about half a mile out, where camping is mapped. Mapping records toilets within 90 yards. Rules differ from one water to the next round here. Sand Lake sits 2.2 miles off and takes the overflow. Signs at Lake Alice carry more weight than any list.
