Not a cloud worth mentioning today, with barely a breath of wind with pressure dropping. The productive water at Beaver Lake will be around any hard bottom among the soft. Everything points to the evening. Make the first hour count and build on it. A properly cold day, so expect slow, deliberate fishing.

Set in Saint Louis County, Beaver Lake is a Minnesota water. This is rolling bush country. At 12 acres it is the sort of place you fish for an evening rather than a day. It is a small entry by Saint Louis County standards. Aurora lies 12 miles from the water. Beyond it, Babbitt at 13 miles and Hoyt Lakes at 14 miles. There is no boundary nearby to worry about.
Depth is not on record here, which means reading the ground instead. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. County-wide records name yellow perch, northern pike, white sucker, rainbow trout and walleye. The county list is broader than any single water. Fish Beaver Lake where the bottom changes rather than where it looks deep.
Long-term averages put July at about 65°F and January near 2°F. Winter shuts things down for a spell, then spring reopens them fast. Ice-out usually falls in late April, and the weeks after it fish hardest. Climate figures give an open season running late April to late November. Just after the ice goes and just before it returns, the fishing lifts. It holds true on Beaver Lake more years than not.
Ownership and access are not documented in what we hold. Nothing in the way of made access shows up nearby: no ramp, no car park, no path. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. A phone call first saves an afternoon. A polite question at the farm gate opens more banks than anything else. If the gate is shut, Hay Lake at 0.4 miles is the nearest alternative. Nothing here settles the position at Beaver Lake for certain.
