Showers crossing the water today, with light air out of the WSW as pressure builds. Activity on Wilson Lake should centre on windblown banks where food collects. The productive run goes the day. Start on the obvious water and expand from there. Fish follow the bait in autumn, so find one to find the other.

Michigan holds Wilson Lake, in Mecosta County. It stands 1,033 feet above sea level. The water measures roughly 5 acres, so nothing here is far from anything else. Our Mecosta County list holds plenty of bigger water. The closest town, Lake Isabella, is 8.4 miles distant. Canadian Lakes follows at 8.9 miles, then Lakeview at 16 miles. The boundary is near enough that local access rules are worth double-checking.
Depth is unmeasured here, so let the shoreline guide you. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. County-wide records name bluegill, largemouth bass, rock bass and black crappie. Take it as the county picture rather than a promise for this water. On Wilson Lake a short move beats a long cast.
Expect July to average close to 69°F, with January the cold end at about 19°F. Winter closes the water for a while, and the reopening is worth catching. The freeze runs deep into the year, with break-up near early April. Expect the water usable from around early April until roughly mid December. The strongest runs come at either end of the open season. The season on Wilson Lake rarely departs from it.
Public sources are silent on who controls the bank. There is no mapped parking or launch nearby, which keeps numbers down. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. Where the road in crosses private land, ask first. Where the way in crosses private ground, ask first. If the gate is shut, Lake Twentyeight at 0.7 miles is the nearest alternative. None of that is settled for Wilson Lake in what we hold.
