Glare on the water under a clear sky, with stillness over the whole water and pressure easing off. The productive water at Twin Lake will be around shallow cover and weed edges. The day fishes best from afternoon into evening. Fish confidently and change only when the bites stop. Autumn rewards covering water while the fish roam.

Night
Twin Lake is a Montmorency County water, Michigan side. The bank gives way to rolling bush. Roughly 70 acres: a morning covers one end, an afternoon the other. About 1.3 miles of bank, so nothing stays unexplored for long. Supplies mean a trip to Lewiston, 12 miles off. Then Mio, 25 miles, and Gaylord, 27 miles. It sits well inside the county, so one set of rules covers it.
No figure exists for depth, so let the water show you. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Where the bottom changes texture, fish gather; find that line. County-wide records name largemouth bass, bluegill and northern pike. County data is a starting point rather than a guarantee. Twin Lake responds to conditions more than to tactics.
The year swings from about 17°F in January to roughly 67°F in July. The freeze arrives properly here and holds. The lid usually sets by midwinter and gives way around mid April. The season between ice runs from about mid April to early December. The weeks after the thaw and the ones before the freeze are the strongest. Twin Lake fishes to that pattern most years.
Who may fish here is not settled in anything we hold. No dam controls it, and the level follows the season. Briley Township Park Boat Launch sits about half a mile away and carries the launch. The nearest car park is half a mile from the water. Public data records a pier about half a mile out. Parking space is the usual limit rather than the bank itself. Some stretches are reserved and marked as such on the ground. The nearest alternative is Voyer Lake, 1.8 miles out. Rules at Twin Lake are worth checking on the day.
