Solid cloud cover today, with mild air moving in from the S with pressure dropping. The productive water at Trout Lake will be around bays that hold the day's warmth. The strongest window is the middle of the day. Start on the obvious water and expand from there. The pre-winter feed makes autumn days generous.

Out in Marquette County, Michigan, sits Trout Lake. This is pine and birch ground. With some 38 acres of water, there is room for a boat but no need of one. For supplies, L'Anse is 27 miles out. Thunder Bay is the closest city, 122 miles away. Water in the same corner: Mountain Lake at 0.9 miles, Florence Pond 1.3 miles away, Lake Ann at 1.7 miles, Canyon Lake 2.2 miles away and Rush Lake at 2.3 miles. The nearest boundary is well away, so one set of rules covers the water.
No figure exists for depth, so let the water show you. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. Look for the band where the shallows give up and the bottom falls away. Reported across Marquette County: white sucker, yellow perch, rainbow smelt, smallmouth bass and northern pike. Read it as a county summary, not a water-by-water list. Trout Lake fishes better once you know its edges.
Expect July near 65°F and January near 17°F on the long-run figures. The season turns properly here, and fish follow it closely. Ice-out usually falls in mid April, and the weeks after it fish hardest. The open-water window runs from around mid April to about early December in an average year. Reckon on open water from spring through to late autumn, with May and June the strongest. Trout Lake fishes to that pattern most years.
Public data does not answer the access question here. Formal access is not mapped, so the last stretch is likely on foot. A small crankbait along the drop and a worm in the thick stuff cover the bass. Where the road in crosses private land, ask first. Barbless rules turn up on managed water more often than not. For a change of water, Mountain Lake is 0.9 miles distant. None of that is settled for Trout Lake in what we hold.
