Bright, clear skies over the water today, with light air out of the ESE as pressure builds. Expect most activity at Silver Lake around the weed line and any gaps in it. The day holds up well from the day. Work the productive water thoroughly. Falling temperatures are switching fish back on.

Night
Look for Silver Lake in Branch County, Michigan. It sits at 978 feet above sea level. Roughly 232 acres: a morning covers one end, an afternoon the other. With 3.6 miles or so of shoreline, boat anglers cover ground the bank cannot. On our Branch County list it sits near the top for size. Supplies mean a trip to Fremont, 4.7 miles off. Then Angola, 9.9 miles, and Coldwater, 11 miles. A county line runs close by, so local bylaws can differ within a short drive.
Depth is unknown to us, and the shoreline is the better guide. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Weed, then depth: that is the order to fish a water of this kind. Public occurrence data for Branch County names bluegill, largemouth bass and yellow perch. Those are county-wide records, so not every one of them will be in this water. The shape of Silver Lake rewards a slow walk along one bank.
July runs about 71°F on average, January about 22°F. A solid cap is the normal state through winter. Ice fishing carries the winter, and the water opens about late March. The season between ice runs from about late March to mid December. Reckon on open water from spring through to late autumn, with May and June the strongest. At Silver Lake the season follows that pattern closely.
Nothing in our records says who may fish here. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. There is a slipway at Silver Lake Boat Launch, roughly half a mile off. Public toilets are recorded roughly half a mile off. A small crankbait along the drop and a worm in the thick stuff cover the bass. Parking space is the usual limit rather than the bank itself. Where parking is tight, arriving early solves most problems. Huyck Lake at 1 mile is the sensible second choice. None of that is settled for Silver Lake in what we hold.
