Clear conditions and high sun today, with the water lying quiet and the barometer on the way down. Start the search at Reynolds Lake along structure within a cast of the bank. Plan around the stretch from afternoon into evening. Keep moving until you find them. Cooler water spreads fish back across the shallows.

Look for Reynolds Lake in Jackson County, Michigan. The setting is mixed forest on every side. It measures about 79 acres, which is a comfortable size for bank fishing. The bank runs about 1.2 miles all the way round, so one visit can cover most of it. Concord is the closest place, 1.4 miles off. Spring Arbor is 3.5 miles and Albion 8.1 miles. The nearest boundary is a fair way off.
Depth went unrecorded, which puts the reading back on you. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. Reported across Jackson County: bluegill, largemouth bass, yellow perch, black crappie and northern pike. Take it as the county picture rather than a promise for this water. Read Reynolds Lake before you fish it and the day goes better.
Between January at about 22°F and July at about 71°F, the water has a wide range to work through. Winter shuts things down for a spell, then spring reopens them fast. Hard cover is dependable here; it goes around late March. Ice usually gives way near late March, and forms again about mid December. The first weeks of open water and the last are the ones to plan for. Reynolds Lake runs to its own calendar within the local pattern.
No access rule appears in what we hold. It formed naturally, so levels move with rainfall rather than with a gate. Nothing in the way of made access shows up nearby: no ramp, no car park, no path. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. A phone call first saves an afternoon. Night access is frequently treated as a separate matter. Swains Lake, 2.7 miles away, makes the obvious fallback. Confirm before you fish Reynolds Lake.
