Overcast skies today, with a gentle ripple from the SSE and no real change in pressure. The productive water at Little Duck Lake will be around the first drop-off and weed lines. Expect the better fishing from afternoon into evening. Give the likely spots time before moving. Cooler water spreads fish back across the shallows.

Little Duck Lake is set in Gogebic County, Michigan. It sits in lake country bush. Surface area is around 42 acres, which gives you real water without needing a boat. There is roughly 1.2 miles of shoreline here, which is a short walk end to end. By elevation it is in the upper part of our Michigan listings. The town to know is Eagle River, 21 miles out. Then Iron River, 30 miles, and Stambaugh, Iron River, 30 miles. A county boundary sits nearby, which can matter for local access rules.
Nothing we hold settles how deep this runs. A natural lake fishes on cover, and cover here means weed and timber. The shallow end warms first and pulls fish in ahead of the rest. Across Gogebic County, recorded fish include bluegill, yellow perch, walleye and largemouth bass. Records at county level tell you what is around, not what is stocked here. On Little Duck Lake that means starting tight and working out.
Between January at about 9°F and July at about 65°F, the water has a wide range to work through. Four clear seasons, with a proper winter at one end. Expect a solid lid for months and a thaw around late April. The open-water window runs from around late April to about late November in an average year. The open run goes from the thaw to the freeze, and April through October covers most of it. Anyone fishing Little Duck Lake regularly works to that calendar.
The rules here are undocumented as far as public sources go. This is a natural basin, not a dammed one. The nearest recorded ramp is Little Duck Lake Boat Launch, half a mile out. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. A phone call first saves an afternoon. Fishing rules and camping rules are set separately here. Chickadee Lake at 0.4 miles is the sensible second choice. The position on Little Duck Lake is worth confirming on the day.
