Low, flat cloud sitting over the water, with light air out of the SW and a rising glass. Expect most activity at Lime Lake around any hard bottom among the soft. A long productive spell runs night into morning. Make the first hour count and build on it. Cooling water has fish active and on the move.

Look for Lime Lake in the Livingston County part of Michigan. Height above sea level is 889 feet. It measures about 38 acres, which is a comfortable size for bank fishing. The closest town, Brighton, is 1.5 miles distant. It is 17 miles to Ann Arbor, the nearest city. The boundary is close enough to be worth checking before you fish.
No depth figure appears in our records, so the bank has to tell you. A soft bed grows weed late into autumn, which keeps fish shallow. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. County-wide records name bluegill, largemouth bass and black crappie. It is the county picture; the agency list is water-specific. On Lime Lake the first feature you find is usually worth a session.
The seasonal spread runs 22°F to 71°F. Spring and autumn carry the fishing; summer and winter test it. Winter locks it down, and late March brings it back. Averages place the thaw at late March and the freeze at mid December. May into June fishes hardest, and September gives a second good stretch before the lid returns. Lime Lake runs to that rhythm year in and year out.
Who may fish here is not settled in anything we hold. The slipway at Brighton Lake Boat Ramp is 0.9 miles away. Mapping shows parking within half a mile. There is a pier recorded roughly half a mile away. For the bass here, soft plastics worked slow along cover and a spinnerbait for searching do most of the work. Check whether a boat is allowed before you tow one. Where tickets apply, they are sold in the nearest town rather than on the bank. Leith Lake sits 0.7 miles off and takes the overflow. Rules at Lime Lake are worth checking on the day.
