A grey, even sky over the water, with a light NW breeze and pressure ticking upward. Activity on Lake Harold should centre on the weed line and any gaps in it. One clear peak today: the night. Cover water early, then settle where the signs are. The autumn feed-up is on; baitfish areas are the key.

Lake Harold lies in Antrim County, Michigan. It sits in pine and birch country. It measures about 50 acres, which is a comfortable size for bank fishing. A shoreline of some 1.2 miles keeps the choices simple. Mancelona lies 8.4 miles from the water. Grand Rapids sits 142 miles out, and it is the nearest city worth the name. The nearest boundary is a fair way off.
Depth is unknown to us, and the shoreline is the better guide. The productive water is a rod length or two out, not a hundred. Read the surface for the wind lane, then fish the edge of it. Fish documented in Antrim County include brook trout, yellow perch, smallmouth bass, rock bass and white sucker. These are county-wide records, so not all of them will be in this water. On Lake Harold the obvious spot is not always the productive one.
Typical July readings run about 67°F; by January the average is down near 17°F. Seasons are distinct, and each one fishes differently. Hard water holds through the cold months, breaking up near mid April. Expect the water usable from around mid April until roughly early December. Right after break-up, and again as the nights sharpen, is when to go. Lake Harold runs to its own calendar within the local pattern.
Ownership and access are not documented in what we hold. Records list it as a natural water body rather than an impoundment. Nothing in the way of made access shows up nearby: no ramp, no car park, no path. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. Season dates differ by species, so read the table. Close seasons apply to some species and not others. Should this one be busy, Hawk Lake is 3.2 miles off. Treat Lake Harold as unsettled until someone local tells you otherwise.
