A crisp, open sky after dark, with a light WNW breeze and pressure easing off. Expect most activity at Barhite Lake around reed fringes and open pockets. The day peaks in the night. Work fewer spots, but work them properly. Cooler water spreads fish back across the shallows.

Barhite Lake falls in Cheboygan County, part of Michigan. The bank is 830 feet above sea level. This is a pocket water of some 11 acres, and every part of it is reachable from the bank. It is one of the smaller waters we list in Cheboygan County. For supplies, Indian River is 11 miles out. After that come Petoskey at 16 miles and Gaylord at 16 miles. It lies deep inside the county rather than near an edge.
There is no recorded depth, so work from what you can see. On a natural lake the weed line and the shelf beyond it do the work. Still water like this holds fish on the edges rather than out in the open. Fish documented in Cheboygan County include yellow perch, rock bass, white sucker, smallmouth bass and northern pike. County records show what lives in the area; the local agency holds the water-by-water list. Take Barhite Lake a stretch at a time.
Expect July to average close to 67°F, with January the cold end at about 18°F. The middle months are generous; the ends are demanding. Ice fishing carries the winter, and the water opens about mid April. Open water usually runs from mid April until about early December. Reckon on open water from spring through to late autumn, with May and June the strongest. Barhite Lake runs to its own calendar within the local pattern.
Whether the bank is open is not something our records settle. Parking is not close: half a mile from the bank, and no nearer option is mapped. Largemouth respond to soft plastics tight to cover; go weedless where the growth is heavy. Parking space is the usual limit rather than the bank itself. Rules for boats are stricter than rules for the bank in many places. Fulmer Lake, 0.6 miles away, makes the obvious fallback. Treat Barhite Lake as unsettled until someone local tells you otherwise.
