Cloud coming and going through the night, with calm air over the water and pressure on the rise. Most of the action on Westboro Reservoir should come off shelves near deep water. The productive run goes morning through afternoon. Start on the obvious water and expand from there. Autumn fish are feeding up and less fussy than in summer.

Westboro Reservoir sits in Worcester County, out in Massachusetts. The country here is pine and birch. With some 60 acres of water, there is room for a boat but no need of one. The whole outline is near 1.9 miles, and most of it is walkable. Westborough sits 2.1 miles from the bank. Hopkinton lies 4.3 miles off, Cordaville another 4.6 miles. The boundary is near enough that local access rules are worth double-checking.
No depth figure has reached our records, which makes a plummet useful. Held water runs deepest at the wall and shallows back to the inflow. Rip-rap along the wall holds fish that the open bank never does. Reported across Worcester County: bluegill, chain pickerel and largemouth bass. The list covers the county rather than this water alone, so treat it as a guide. Read Westboro Reservoir for ten minutes before the first cast goes out.
Expect July near 70°F and January near 24°F on the long-run figures. A hard winter is normal, and the thaw brings a strong few weeks. Ice is part of the season here, ending near late March. The season between ice runs from about late March to late December. The strongest runs come at either end of the open season. Westboro Reservoir fishes to that pattern most years.
The rules here are undocumented as far as public sources go. A car park sits roughly half a mile away. Mapping shows a jetty some half a mile off. The water borders Upton Road Conservation Area, so expect the reserve rules to apply. Read any posted signs at the access point rather than assuming. Signs go up and come down, so check on the day. Should this one be busy, Cedar Swamp Pond is 2.1 miles off. Treat access at Westboro Reservoir as something to verify.
