Open sky and sharp air tonight, with almost no wind to speak of and the barometer heading up. Mill Pond should fish best around margins first, middle later today. A broad window opens from morning through afternoon. Commit to the pattern once the first fish shows. Shortening days concentrate the feeding into fewer hours.

Look for Mill Pond in Worcester County, Massachusetts. It sits 35 miles in from the sea. This is a pocket water of some 14 acres, and every part of it is reachable from the bank. Shrewsbury at 1.6 miles is the nearest place to stop. The big place round here is Worcester, 3.7 miles distant. Close by you have: Jordan Pond at 1.1 miles, Lake Quinsigamond roughly 1.3 miles, City Farm Pond at 1.7 miles, Newton Pond roughly 2.1 miles and Bell Pond at 2.4 miles. One jurisdiction covers this water end to end.
Depth went unrecorded, which puts the reading back on you. A reservoir gives you a hard edge, a shelf, and not much else. Draw-down through summer strips the margins, so follow the water out. Fish documented in Worcester County include bluegill, chain pickerel, largemouth bass and pumpkinseed. Those are county-wide records, so not every one of them will be in this water. On Mill Pond the quiet end is the one worth the extra effort.
Climate normals give 71°F for July and 24°F for January. Spring and autumn carry the fishing; summer and winter test it. Ice is part of the season here, ending near late March. Averages suggest open water from about late March through to roughly late December. June through September is the settled part of the year, with the shoulders busier for fish. On Mill Pond the same rules apply, with local timing.
No access rule appears in what we hold. The car has to stay half a mile away, which shapes how much tackle you bring. Mapping shows a jetty some 100 yards off. A protected area covers this ground, which usually means restrictions on access. Bass water: a Texas-rigged worm near cover, a spinnerbait when you need to cover ground. Take the rules with you rather than trusting memory. Where the way in crosses private ground, ask first. For a change of water, Jordan Pond is 1.1 miles distant. None of that is settled for Mill Pond in what we hold.
