Scattered cloud dimming the moonlight, with stillness over the whole water and the barometer heading up. Give the deeper corner and inflow the first hour at Ice House Pond. The useful hours run the day. Trust the forecast and stay out through the window. Falling temperatures are switching fish back on.

Ice House Pond is set in Middlesex County, Massachusetts. It lies 151 feet above sea level. The water measures roughly 3 acres, so nothing here is far from anything else. Our Middlesex County list holds plenty of bigger water. Acton is the closest place, 1.1 miles off. West Concord lies 1.7 miles off, Maynard another 3.5 miles. The nearest boundary is a fair way off.
Depth here is unknown, so count the lead down before committing. Built water gives depth close in, which suits a bank angler. A reservoir gives you a hard edge, a shelf, and not much else. Survey and observation records for Middlesex County include bluegill, pumpkinseed, chain pickerel, yellow perch and common carp. These are county-wide records, so not all of them will be in this water. Ice House Pond gives up more to patience than to distance.
Climate normals give 71°F for July and 24°F for January. A full turn of seasons, with the strongest sport on either side of summer. Expect a solid lid for months and a thaw around late March. The lid tends to go about late March and return around late December. May into June fishes hardest, and September gives a second good stretch before the lid returns. That is the shape of the year on Ice House Pond.
Ownership and access are not documented in what we hold. The slipway at Canoe & Kayak launch is 100 yards away. A car park lies 170 yards away, so the walk in is short. Pike mean a wire trace, no exceptions; big spoons and jerkbaits do the searching. Parking is often the real limit rather than the bank itself. Some ground is open by custom rather than by right, so tread carefully. Should this one be busy, Warners Pond is 1.3 miles off. The position on Ice House Pond is worth confirming on the day.
